Planet Mu is a label that has always survived on its own very independent terms. For 20 years it's existed both on the fringes and in the centre of emerging electronic music, from IDM and breakcore to dubstep and grime and lately to footwork, which it took a chance on, opening it up to the world through the two Bangs & Works compilations. It also has a strong history of connecting the dots in between those genres by supporting idiosyncratic artists, from label stalwart Venetian Snares to Kuedo, Machinedrum, Boxcutter, Vex'd, Falty DL, Luke Vibert, Ital, Jlin and Mr. Mitch to name just a few.

SECOND TOUGHEST IN THE INFANTS (2015 REMASTER) (SUPER DELUXE EDITION)

Following 1994’s groundbreaking predecessor dubnobasswithmyheadman (the record that cemented the band’s reputation as one of the UK’s most important dance acts), Second Toughest… was the point they forged out alone, in turn creating some of the most forward thinking electronic music this country has ever produced.

Five years after her highly-acclaimed debut album 'Nerve Up' saw LoneLady garner praise from the likes of Pitchfork, NME, and The Quietus, LoneLady returns with the exciting announcement of her new album. 'Hinterland' (literally "the country behind" in German) conjures impressions of decayed Manchester outskirts and reclusive inner landscapes obsessively throughout the record, as Campbell continues her fascination with the post-industrial ruins cape. At its core beats an uncomplicated drum machine rhythm and synthetic percussion that recalls fractured memories of minimal wave and even early techno and dance, dynamically spliced through with Campbell's intricate, choppy and propulsive guitar playing.

UK techno producer Surgeon is releasing his seventh solo album, From Farthest Known Objects, which came about when Surgeon (real name Anthony Child), discovered that by experimenting with “old and unlikely hardware” he was able to “tune into transmissions from distant galaxies.” He linked up with guitarist and astrophysicist Dr Andrew Read, (with whom Child recorded a string of drone and ambient sketches back in the late 90’s with) and went to work identifying where these mysterious transmissions originated from.
